Theatre show “Maids” by Jean Genet, Directed by Agnes Nokshiqi
Friday, April 4, starting from 20:00 h at Barabar Centre
This reimagining of The Maids by Jean Genet unfolds through 15 experimental scenes that blend choreography, text, and dance. The story explores the complex love-hate relationship between two maids, Madame, and Monsieur. Trapped in cycles of servitude and fantasy, the maids long for freedom but remain bound by their desires and the oppressive dynamics of power. As the boundaries between reality and illusion blur, their rebellion drives them toward an inevitable and tragic conclusion.
The play will be performed in English. No entrance fee.

The exhibition “Stories of Ongoingness” showcases multiple stories from these young adults, revealing their pasts, their personal journeys of growth, their hopes for a better future, and their discoveries of similarities between nations. Under the curation of Simon Kurti these contemporary art media addresses sensitive topics and opens new doors for rethinking coexistence.
